Once I switched the Clone from source, the rift no longer had any tearing, but the primary monitor DID have the tearing. the RIFT was cloned from the monitor, not the other way around. This was due to the fact that I did not have the "Clone from Source" to the correct one. This was harder to explain than I thought! Hope that made sense.īTW, upon first doing this, I noticed that in the rift, there was screen tearing, but my monitor #1 did not have any tearing. This leaves my 2nd monitor free to be at it's native resolution in extended mode, and my former primary monitor is a 1280x800 clone of the Rift. I then made the Rift the primary monitor, and made certain that the "clone from source" was cloning from the Rift to the 1st monitor and not the other way around. I cloned monitor #1 and the Rift and set the resolution to 1280x800. Here's what I did yesterday when I received my Rift to set it up properly with dual monitors. Swap cables and change from Extended to Clone each time I use my Rift. I can't imagine they would be good for fast moving images (i.e video and games). In truth, i didn't even know these existed. Plus there is an added complication of moving apps/games to the 3rd monitor (Rift)ģ. The downside of this is that the cursor and desktop icons could move along the entire length of the desktop onto the rift, which will be a bit of a pain. THis isn't a bad solution as I already use this kind of splitter around the house for distribution of TV and they work fine.Ģ. Get a HDMI splitter and split the output to the main monitor. When I add the rift I expected to make it the 3rd Monitor and 'clone' (mirror) the Primary. I currently have a Dual Monitor setup (Extended).
